Q) What are the eligibility criteria for getting admission?
A) For “General Category” students, they should have minimum 50% marks in PCB i.e. Physics, Chemistry & Biology in 12th standard. For “SC / ST / OBC Category”, students should have minimum 40% marks in PCB.
Q) Is qualifying NEET compulsory to take admission abroad?
A) Yes, It is compulsory to qualify NEET to get the Eligibility Certificate for appearing in screening test after completion of MBBS course and to get registered.
Q) What are the age criteria for admission?
A) The student should complete minimum 17 years by 31st December of the year he is seeking admission.
Q) What is the medium of instruction?
A) The medium of instruction is English but the students are also taught Russian language. It helps them in communicating with the patients from 3rd year when clinical subjects are taught. For example- If a student from Srinagar goes to study in Chennai, he needs to understand Tamil to understand patients. In addition, it helps to know culture and to understand local citizens too.
Q) What is the duration of MBBS course?
A) The duration of course is 6 years.
Q) How can I get an education loan?
A) This entirely depends on a student’s and his family background. They need to visit their nearest bank to check their eligibility for getting a loan sanctioned. We help to provide all necessary documents for the facilitation of educational loan.
Q) When do the classes start?
A) The classes officially start in the 1st week of September.
Q) Does the student have to appear for Visa interview for getting Visa?
A) No. Students don’t have to appear for any of interview process as this process is completely facilitated by PEC officials.
Q) How is the university fee paid?
A) PEC believes in transparency of the process so we encourage digital transactions. Students have both options- Either they can carry cash and submit fee on arrival OR they can transact fee to the account. Bank account details are in public domain on fee structure page.
Q) When do the students get vacations for returning home?
A) Vacations are granted twice a year in all universities i.e. January Winter Vacations (Approx. 15 Days) & June – August Summer Vacations (2 Months). Students return to their homes during summer vacations generally.
Q) Can students earn or do any part-time job while studying?
A) Yes. Student can do part time job. They must abide by rules BUT we don’t encourage part time job. Medical profession demands full devotion and dedication and we don’t want students to get diverted to such affairs.
Q) Who to contact if student faces any problem while staying there?
A) Our Russia office is always in contact with students. In case of any issue, they can contact Dr. Ashutosh Dwivedee and his assistants, whose numbers are in public domain and on contacts page.
Q) What to do if student falls ill?
A) All students are given “Medical Insurance” every year which covers all expenses if they fall ill and is renewed every year.
Q) What are the monthly expenses?
A) The average monthly expenses that students spend are USD 80 – USD 100. But this figure completely depends on student’s personal lifestyle.
Q) How can parents send money to students?
A) All students are advised to carry “International Debit Card” with themselves for withdrawing money that their parents send from their home country. Students can open account in Russian banks too which can be useful for different purposes.
Q) Can internship be done after completion of course?
A) Yes. The students undergo internship after successfully clearing “MCI Screening Test”.
Q) Can I practice in my country after completion of course?
A) Yes. After clearing “MCI Screening Test” students can practice as regular MBBS doctors.
Q) What if I do not clear “MCI Screening Test” in 1st attempt?
A) “MCI Screening Test” is conducted twice each year i.e. March & September and it gives unlimited attempts to all students for appearing till they clear it. We conduct MCI preparation classes from 3rd year for students to get them acquainted with the syllabus of screening test.
Q) Can I get government job after completion of course?
A) Yes. Once “MCI Screening Test” is cleared, they can work in government as well as private hospitals and even open their own clinics.
